A prize dedicated to the history of art
The Pinault Collection supports art history research with the annual award of a prize distinguishing a work on modern or contemporary art history. Created by François Pinault in 2015, in memory of his friend the historian Pierre Daix who passed away in 2014, the Pierre Daix Prize is awarded at the end of the year.
Prix Pierre Daix 2025
The 2025 Prix Pierre Daix was awarded to Elvan Zabunyan on 24 November 2025 at the Bourse de Commerce by François Pinault.

The 2021 Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to Germain Viatte by François Pinault at the Bourse de Commerce.

The 2020 Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to Pascal Rousseau by François Pinault at the Bourse de Commerce.
2019 Pierre Daix Prize
The 2019 Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to Rémi Labrusse by François Pinault at the Musée national Picasso-Paris.
2018 Pierre Daix Prize
The fourth annual Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to art historian Pierre Wat for his book “Pérégrination: Paysages entre Nature et Histoire”.
2017 Pierre Daix Prize
The 2017 Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to “Ce que le Sida m’a fait — Art et activisme à la fin du XXe siècle” by Elisabeth Lebovici, published in 2017 by editions JRP | Ringier, in collaboration with la maison rouge — Antoine de Galbert Foundation.
2016 Pierre Daix Prize
The 2016 Pierre Daix Prize was awarded to Maurice Fréchuret for his work “Effacer. Paradoxe d’un Geste Artistique” [Erasing. A Paradoxical Artistic Gesture], published by Les Presses du Réel.
2015 Pierre Daix Prize
The first Pierre Daix Prize in the history of modern and contemporary art was awarded jointly to Yve-Alain Bois and Marie-Anne Lescourret.
