Informations
This ticket includes access to the museum, for the family workshop and for the ‘Clair-obscur’ exhibition.

The activity is conducted in French only.

As part of the exhibition “Clair-obscur”, Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya presents one of her “fog sculptures,” titled Cloud #07156, at the heart of the museum’s Rotunda.

A white, light, ever-shifting cloud fills the space beneath the dome, creating a unique atmosphere—like a landscape to be explored.

On Saturdays, June 20 and July 4, from 10 to 11 a.m., join us for an exceptional family experience, where children (from age 6) and adults alike explore this immersive work through vocal practice. Guided by Xavier Margueritat, choir director and singer of the vocal ensemble Sequenza 9.3, participants are invited to join a large, ephemeral choir and experience collective singing as a family.

In a joyful connection between children and adults, play with your voices and breath, explore sounds and silences in a playful way—whisper, resonate, let the space vibrate, listen—and observe how this transforms your perception of the artwork. Echoing the ever-changing fog, take part in a living, collective polyphony.

No previous singing experience is required: everyone participates at their own pace through an improvisation-based approach proposed by the ensemble Sequenza 9.3.

After the workshop, extend this unique moment by discovering the exhibition “Clair-obscur.” You can enjoy the Mini Salon area dedicated to families, use The Compasses activity booklet to explore, or engage with museum guides.

About Sequenza 9.3

Engaging with and supporting contemporary music, collaborating with today’s composers, and championing the polyphonic vocal repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries—these are the core commitments of Catherine Simonpietri and the vocal ensemble Sequenza 9.3.

A professional ensemble with a flexible structure, performing in France and internationally, Sequenza 9.3 is recognised for the rigor of its performances and its ability to engage with a wide range of artistic aesthetics and disciplines.

It performs in numerous venues and festivals in France and abroad, including the Venice Biennale, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Festival of Saint-Denis, the Théâtre de Chaillot, the La Chaise-Dieu Festival, the Théâtre du Châtelet, and the Présence Festival (Radio France).

Based in Seine-Saint-Denis since its creation in 1998, the ensemble develops ambitious participatory projects bringing together amateurs and professionals, as well as community-based initiatives aimed at making vocal practice more accessible and inclusive.
