Bourse de Commerce

Education

The visits offered for groups in an educational setting (school and student groups, social action groups, groups of visitors with disabilities) bring visitors face-to-face with the artworks. They learn how to hone their regard and find the words needed to describe the work and how they perceive it.

Bookings are open until 2 September 2024.

The Bourse de Commerce presents a regularly renewed programme of exhibitions available here.

Activities are conducted in French. If you wish to organize a visit in another language, please contact us at groupes@pinaultcollection.com.

Follow our guides!

Enjoy a guided visit with a specialized tour guide at the Bourse de Commerce. The tour content is adapted to suit the group, the age of the participants and their educational needs. On offer: a range of three themed tours.

Architectural tour

Seen from the outside, the Bourse de Commerce forms a perfect circle. This unique design is a rarity in the Parisian urban landscape. Immediate departure: this architectural tour takes visitors on a remarkable voyage through the five centuries of the building’s history. Discover the “queen’s palace”, the “municipal pantry”, the “world store”, and the “contemporary art museum”, and admire the different architectural elements that make up the Bourse de Commerce.

The Exhibition Tour

Paintings, sculptures, videos, photographs, sound works, installations: from works that have already made the istory of contemporary art to the most emerging artists, the collection offers a perspective on the art of our time. This guided visit invites you to take a tour of the current exhibitions and, through active observation, to share your experience of the works.

Where are we?

Where do artworks come from? Who chooses to exhibit them? How do you arrange them in space? What is a museum label? On this tour, find the answers to all these questions and get a glimpse into the workings of a contemporary art museum.

Storytelling tour (Ages 3–5)

This storytelling tour introduces children to art through a playful and rhythmed narrative. Exploring the exhibition spaces, the children will discover the works on display and all the imaginary worlds they project.

“The world upside down!”

Discover the story of Flip and Flap, two friends who are polar opposites: one walks backwards, while the other follows the usual path, right side up. But who has a handle on common sense? To find out, they set off on an adventure and explore a museum of a thousand reflections. They realise that the world can be seen both forwards and backwards—whichever way you look at it, the most important thing is to see it from every angle.

Workshops

Imagined alongside the exhibitions and the programmes of the Bourse de Commerce and led by educators or by guest artists, these workshops invite young visitors to train their eye and sharpen their sensibility for contemporary creativity.

Activities are conducted in French. If you wish to organize a visit-workshop in another language, please contact us at groupes@pinaultcollection.com.

Workshops last 1.5 hours and are intended for groups of 6 to 12-year-olds.

The exhibition workshop

This workshop, designed exclusively by an artist in the Pinault Collection, highlights the wide range of practices employed by contemporary artists. After a tour of the exhibitions, young visitors can experiment with recycling, painting, assembly and creative protocols... A real laboratory for expression!

Designed in collaboration with the artist Kimsooja

Dancing with reflections

As part of her carte blanche for the exhibition Le monde comme il va ( “The World as It Goes”), the South Korean artist Kimsooja installed a huge mirror on the floor of the Bourse de Commerce Rotunda. With her installation To Breathe — Constellation, the artist has turned the architecture on its head, and with it the order of the world.

Based on Kimsooja’s gestural indications and led by the Bourse de Commerce's cultural mediation team, this workshop invites children aged 6 to 12 and their guardians to explore this staggering work as a vast field of experimentation in which the sky appears beneath their feet. Come along as a family and challenge the laws of perception, play with reflections and optical illusions, and see the world from a whole new perspective.

The architecture workshop

This workshop is based on the unique architectural features of the museum. Young visitors explore the building, listening to their feelings and emotions. Geometric shapes, materials, spaces, angles of view... these are all inspirations for creating a small model  off the building giving shape to their experience of the museum.
