FKA twigs: Movement Workshop
ARCHIVE
Due to its format, late arrivals will not be admitted and the use of mobile phones will not be permitted during the session. The workshop will be conducted in English and does not require any specific skills. A guide will be provided to participants; reading it in advance is recommended.
The Bourse de Commerce invites British composer, singer, and dancer FKA twigs, a singular figure at the crossroads of R&B, pop, and new wave, to lead a dance workshop in the museum’s Foyer.
During this workshop, FKA twigs will transmit and teach The Eleven, an eleven-step movement method she created in 2024. Each movement corresponds to one of the eleven “pillars of life” she has developed and drawn upon in her daily practice and during periods of adversity. This embodied practice draws on somatic healing techniques and aims to foster self-awareness, bodily presence, and self-healing.
FKA twigs is a multidisciplinary artist and GRAMMY Award winner: singer-songwriter, producer, dancer and choreographer, whose cultural footprint spans music, performance, film, and design. She contributed to the renewal of avant-pop with her debut EP and her album LP1, establishing herself as a singular creative force, writing, directing, and physically embodying her work. Her subsequent albums, Magdalene, Eusexua, and Eusexua Afterglow, have consolidated her place among the most daring artists of her generation.
