Sur les bancs de la Bourse 2026 — Exhibition "Remember Me"
The Bourse de Commerce’s evening lectures are part of a new way to experience contemporary art, designed for Pinault Collection members. Using works from the Collection as a starting point, these sessions shed light on the key movements and ideas that have shaped contemporary art.

19 October – The Photographic Revolution
When Nicéphore Niépce produced the first photographs in the early 19th century, no one could yet imagine the scale of the revolution that lay ahead. Originally conceived as a process for capturing reality, photography gradually became an artistic language in its own right, capable of revealing the invisible, exploring identity, and staging dreams.
Drawing on works featured in the exhibition “Remember Me” – from Gustave Le Gray's pioneering landscapes to Zanele Muholi's contemporary photographs – this lecture traces two centuries of visual history to examine how photography has become a powerful tool for knowledge, memory, and the transformation of the way we see the world.

16 November – A Brief History of Fashion Photography
From the theatrical universe of Cecil Beaton to the provocative imagery of Helmut Newton, fashion photography has always told a story that extends far beyond clothing. It reflects the aesthetic, social, and cultural transformations of its time.
Through a selection of iconic photographs, this lecture explores how the leading figures of fashion photography helped define the aesthetic ideals of their eras while leaving a lasting influence on the way we perceive images today.

14 December – Photography: A Mirror with a Memory
Photography records everything. It sees everything. It remembers everything. But what memories does this "mirror" preserve? What image of the past does it retain? What sense of time is embedded within the photographic image?
This lecture explores these questions through the works of Danh Vō, whose practice investigates memory and identity; Barbara Kruger, who examines the media and structures of power; Annie Leibovitz, renowned for her portraits of public figures; and Boris Mikhailov, whose photographs bear witness to the profound social and human transformations of his time.

11 January – Photography: The Humble Servant of the Arts
The invention of photography sparked intense critical debate. Celebrated by some and condemned by others, it left no one indifferent. Where did these debates originate, and what can they still teach us today about the way we look at images?
This lecture explores these questions through the works of Louise Lawler, Raymond Depardon, Irving Penn, and Cindy Sherman, each of whom, in their own way, challenges the status, uses, and power of photography.
