The exhibition
Drawing on iconic artists from the Pinault Collection — such as Alberto Giacometti, Bill Viola, Alina Szapocznikow, and Germaine Richier — the exhibition examines the legacy of chiaroscuro, a pictorial technique that originated in the 16th century, and the shadowy territories that shape our contemporary experience. Paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations guide visitors through a journey between the visible and the invisible, across a collection of modern and contemporary works.
