Extended – live works in the exhibition context is Palazzo Grassi’s new performance programme, designed to amplify the experience of the Pinault Collection’s spaces in Venice. Curated by Ilaria Mancia, a curator of interdisciplinary projects spanning the visual and performing arts, Extended, playing on the idea of extended duration, engages with the specificities of each venue through live events.
Each event features performances in dialogue with the architecture, transforming Palazzo Grassi, Punta della Dogana and Teatrino into dynamic spaces for listening, interaction and discovery, following different temporal rhythms.
Extended explores the idea of extension; each event is conceived as a new piece or musical track, through performances that expand the time and space of the exhibition, shifting boundaries beyond the exhibition format and introducing new thresholds of perception open to unexpected interactions and diverse interpretative possibilities.
The creations scheduled for 2026 will interact with the various architectural spaces, temporarily transforming them into habitats where the relationships between objects, gestures, sounds, words and the public will help to amplify the exhibition experience, as a traversable, sensitive, ever-changing field.
A calendar of events that will play with the idea of a musical album in the making, in which each performance will bring its own rhythm to punctuate the journey.
