Yuri Ancarani: screenings and masterclass

Palazzo Grassi presents a programme of Masterclasses, talks and screenings with the artist and director Yuri Ancarani inspired by his latest work Atlantide (2021, 104’).

  • 14-17/06: The Masterclass starts with the screening of Yuri Ancarani's film, Atlantide (2021), set in Venice and its lagoon. The students explore the local territory with the director's gaze to then produce original video materials to analyse and edit together with the filmmaker.
  • 16 - 23/06, 07-14/07, 29/09: Screenings of Atlantide (2021, 104’).
  • 22/09: The screening of Atlantide is followed by a public talk dedicated to teenage years, uneasiness and suffering typical of youth, with the participation of Yuri Ancarani and the psychoanalyst Marina Valcarenghi and the psychoanalyst and essayist Luigi Zoja.
  • 22-23/09: Masterclass for students and professionals interested in the moving image - The Masterclass focuses on the analyses of short films directed by the artist and on debate and discussion. The participants will have the opportunity to exchange with the artist and develop critical thinking and analysis of the moving image.

Atlantide (2021, 104')
Shot in Venice without a script, Atlantide follows a group of young people in Venice and in the lagoon and retraces the rituals of everyday life of the transition to adulthood. All the dialogues come from their daily life, with a soundtrack created by the Italian producer Sick Luke with Lorenzo Senni and Mirco Mencacci.
