Pronti, Partenza, Punta - Marco Valmarana
The first appointment of Pronti, Partenza, Punta! is with photographer Marco Valmarana, on Sunday, May 24 at 9:30 am.
Marco Valmarana (1990, Venice) is a photographer working in the travel & leisure field. Raised in Venice and inspired by his travels, he quickly developed a visual approach that combines narrative sensitivity with attention to detail. After his early beginnings on social media, he embarked on an independent and international career, collaborating with brands and destinations in the luxury hospitality and cultural sectors. His images have been published in several Assouline volumes, in the book With Italy for Italy by Lamborghini, and in magazines such as AD, Hello!, Gala, and Condé Nast Traveler. Alongside his editorial work, he has portrayed numerous figures from the worlds of entertainment, fashion, and culture, enriching his vision between travel photography and portraiture. In 2021, he held his first solo exhibition, and in 2024 he published the photography book I giardini di Venezia, published by Marsilio Arte.
Pronti, Partenza, Punta! is the new photographic project by Palazzo Grassi, bringing together a group of professional photographers active in Venice and inviting the public to rediscover the city from its heart: Punta della Dogana.
Located at the center of the San Marco basin, Punta della Dogana is one of Venice’s most iconic sites, a symbol of its history, a meeting point of different cultures, and a place in constant dialogue between past and present.
Participants are invited to observe the city from a new perspective. The sessions take place on the museum terraces in an exclusive time slot, thirty minutes before opening to the public.
Each meeting includes a dedicated moment of exchange and photographic practice with selected photographers, who share their vision of the city by offering insights, suggestions, and small “secrets” for interpreting Venice according to one’s own sensibility.
At the end of each session, participants are invited to share their photographs with Palazzo Grassi. A selection of the images will be published on the museum’s social media channels.
The ticket includes:
A 30-minute meeting with the photographer, while the museum is closed, on the Punta della Dogana viewpoint terraces, opened exclusively for the group.
An admission ticket valid for visiting the exhibitions at Punta della Dogana and Palazzo Grassi.
Further information on upcoming sessions and participating photographers will be shared shortly.
