Inspired by the themes of the exhibition "Lorna Simpson. Third Person," Palazzo Grassi invites you to look up at the sky, for an evening dedicated to stargazing and to exploring Simpson's artistic research further.

After a themed visit to the exhibition with the museum closed to the public, participants will be able to admire stars and constellations from the terraces of Punta della Dogana, guided by the Associazione Astrofili Veneziani.

Through digital telescope technology, it will be possible to observe deep-sky objects — such as galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters — otherwise invisible to the naked eye.

The experience engages in dialogue with Lorna Simpson's research: from Zenith, All Night, and Observer, where stars, luminous halos, and mists merge into a single network, to the striking meteorite at the heart of the work did time elapse, the sky emerges as a space for observation and reflection on the invisible, on matter, and on the human dimension.

Program:

7:30 pm: Guided tour of the exhibition "Lorna Simpson. Third Person" with the museum team

8:15 pm: Stargazing from the Belvedere, led by the Associazione Astrofili Veneziani

In case of bad weather, the stargazing session will be held indoors using a real-time astronomical simulator.
