The Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi hosts one event of the WE+ are Science festival initiated by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice to encourage the participation of young women in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by mobilising the awareness about the need to address the gender gap.
In both sports and science, it is possible to break through the psychological barriers that often hinder free choices and achieve actual gender equality. Through stories of the culture of rowing in the lagoon and the testimony of some young women athletes, the event explores the contribution of women in this sport and the close link between the tradition and the history of women's emancipation.
Following the talk, there will be a screening of the film Aqua Salsa. Storie di Voga (2014, 25' 33'') by Elia Romanelli.
