‘Più libri più Laguna’ is the cultural event born in 2024 from the collaboration between Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana and Più libri più liberi, the National Fair for Small and Medium-sized Publishers in Rome, together with Libreria MarcoPolo.
The new public talk will see the participation of Argentinean journalist and writer Mariana Enriquez, author of A sunny place for shady people, an international bestseller to be published in Italy on 2 September by Marsilio Editori, and American writer Helen Phillips, creator of the dystopian novel Hum, to be published in Italy by nottetempo on 12 September, in dialogue with Chiara Valerio, curator of the project.
If Mariana Enriquez is the lady of contemporary horror, the writer who more than any other has recounted how history, the history that human beings live through on a daily basis generates monsters, ghosts and other shadow creatures, in the same way Helen Phillips does so by setting her narratives in a near future, full of horrors, but unfortunately consequent to the present that humanity constructs day after day.
