Lo Schermo dell'arte Cinema and Contemporary Art Festival

The Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi presents a selection of films from the 2022 program of Lo Schermo dell'Arte Cinema and Contemporary Art Festival, with documentaries on the protagonists of the art world and artist films.

Four evenings are scheduled, the meeting with the artist Giorgio Andreotta Calò and 11 screenings including those of the films dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marina Abramović and David Hammons, and those by the artists Theaster Gates and Rosa Barba.

Born in Florence in 2008, the festival explores, analyzes and promotes the relationship between contemporary art and cinema. Since 2014 Lo Schermo dell'Arte, together with Palazzo Grassi, has curated an exhibition specifically for the audience of the Teatrino, a collaboration that this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. 

To celebrate the 10th edition, Palazzo Grassi and Lo schermo dell'arte, in collaboration with MYmovies, are pleased to offer the public 3 films available for free streaming from Thursday 16 to Sunday 26 March: "The Show MAS Go On” (2014) by Rä di Martino, a film dedicated to a now closed cult place in Rome: the Magazzini Allo Statuto; the documentary “Ettore Spalletti." (2019) by Alessandra Galletta, focused on the great Italian artist; and “Moriyama-San” (2017) by Bêka & Lemoine, from the “Living Architecture” series, which pays homage to the iconic Ryue Nishizawa.
