Kenneth Goldsmith - I Declare a Permanent State of Happiness

American poet and artist Kenneth Goldsmith presents at the Teatrino I Declare a Permanent State of Happiness, a lecture based on his latest and homonymous book focused on the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Wittgenstein. The poet discusses with the curatorial duo Francesco Urbano RagazziLuigi Perissinotto, Professor of Philosophy of Language, and Roberta Dreon, professor of Aesthetics of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Kenneth Goldsmith, protagonist of the exhibition HILLARY: The Hillary Clinton Emails, curated by Francesco Urbano Ragazzi al Despar Teatro Italia, is known in the contemporary art world for having applied the ready-made dada and the surrealist collage to digital writing and for having created UbuWeb, the online archive dedicated to the avanguarde of the XX and XXI centuries.

The talk is followed by the screening of the main films of Stan VanDerBeek, an American experimental filmmaker and a leading exponent of the New American Cinema Group, whose films are mostly available for free on UbuWeb.

Event curated by Francesco Urbano Ragazzi in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage and the Department of Humanities of Ca’ Foscari University, Zuecca Projects and Despar Aspiag Service.
