Albert Oehlen invited Ken Vandermark and Paal Nilssen-Love to perform on the occasion of his exhibition.
The music produced by this duo formed in 2000 is influenced by various traditions from different parts of the world and with varying histories. The musicians use improvisation as a tool to explore different rhythms, timbres, dynamics, densities, shapes and tonalities. As a result, their work is an intense experience that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional jazz.
