Italian preview

In the aftermath of her conspiracy-minded father's sudden death, his daughter inherits his patent for an experimental drug. By showcasing Callie Hernandez's late father's archive, Invention explores the grieving process of a complicated parent, and the film itself becomes part of that process.

Saturday 7 December at 9 pm
À Son Image - Thierry de Peretti

France | 2024 | 113’
The screening is followed by a Q&A with film director Thierry de Peretti, moderated by Andrea De Fusco.
Adapted from a novel by Jérôme Ferrari, Thierry de Peretti takes a non-didactic look at the history of Corsica at the end of the 20th century, embodied by Antonia, a young press photographer in love with an independentist. The film does not elude the impasses of nationalism, nor does it deny the Corsican cause: rather, it delicately and calmly captures its singularity. But above all, it is the formidable portrait of a woman who makes her own way.
