Fashion in Film Festival – Celebrating 10 years of Fashion, Cinema and Art

On the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of the Fashion in Film Festival, London, the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi presents a cycle of public screenings and a workshop for students dedicated to exploring the relationship between fashion, cinema and art.

  • 24 January: The Enigma of Clothes, screening of films directed by early filmmakers and artists including Hans Richter, Georges Méliès, Man Ray, Sonia Delaunay, Kenneth Anger, Christine Noll Brinckmann.
  • 25 January: First screening in Italy of Inferno Unseen, newly mastered cut of rushes created in 1964 in preparation for Henri-Georges Clouzot's film Inferno, which was never finished.
  • 24 to 26 January: The three-day workshop 'Fashion Aperture. Fashion designers and the moving image', created by Iuav University of Venice, in collaboration with Central Saint Martin’s College, University of the Arts London investigates the relationships between fashion and new technologies and the use of film by fashion designers as a tool for expression, planning and communication, from the beginning of the 20th century to today. Workshop organised by Alessandra Vaccari, Iuav University of Venice, and Caroline Evans, Central Saint Martin’s College, University of the Arts London. With the participation of fashion designer Nanni Strada.
