Cinema Galleggiante – Acque Sconosciute and Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana – Pinault Collection renew their partnership with a screening of Amar Kanwar’s film The Scene of Crime (2011, 42 mins). The film will be screened as part of the seventh edition of Cinema Galleggiante, the cultural festival taking place in Venice from 26 August to 13 September 2026, which is held entirely on the waters of the Venetian lagoon.

Cinema Galleggiante – Acque Sconosciute is a project curated by Edoardo Aruta, Alessandra Messali and Paolo Rosso, presented by Microclima.
The following day, Saturday 29 August at 6.00 pm, the Teatrino at Palazzo Grassi will screen another of the artist’s films, Such a Morning (2017, 85’), in the presence of Amar Kanwar and the exhibition’s curator, Jean-Marie Gallais.
These two events expand upon the scope of the ‘Co-travellers’ exhibition and offer an insight into a fundamental aspect of Kanwar’s practice, in which images, documents and testimonies become tools for reflection on memory, political violence, justice and forms of individual and collective resistance.
