For the sixth consecutive year, Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana is participating in Cinema Galleggiante - Acque Sconosciute, the cultural event taking place from August 22nd to September 7th, 2025, in the southern lagoon of Venice. A floating stage hosts a series of screenings and performances by international and local authors.

On Friday, August 29th, Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana will present, as part of the festival, the film Cabaret Crusades: The Path to Cairo (2012, 58') by Wael Shawky.

Cinema Galleggiante ~ Acque Sconosciute presents experiments with sound and moving images, between cinema and the visual arts. The programme includes pre-cinematic techniques such as shadow theater and magic lantern, silent films with live soundtracks, film projections, and digital technologies. Floating Cinema – Unknown Waters is a project curated by Edoardo Aruta, Alessandra Messali, and Paolo Rosso, presented by Microclima.

The complete programme of Floating Cinema and the link for reservations will be available on the official website.
