Cycle At Large — A talk with Sabrina Tarasoff, Zac Farley and Dennis Cooper

Each season, the Bourse de Commerce confides to programmers a cycle of dates called “At Large”, open to the invention of hybrid forms between disciplines.

The Franco-Tunisian curator Myriam Ben Salah, the director of the Renaissance Society of Chicago and co-curator of the fifth edition of the biennale Made in L.A. at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, is inaugurating this initial cycle with two dates in October: a film de Romain Gavras and Surkin et a talk with Sabrina Tarasoff, Zac Farley and Dennis Cooper.

27 October:
Encounter with the American curator Sabrina Tarasoff, the Franco-American filmmaker Zac Farley and the American writer Dennis Cooper. Together, they will present their archives in the form of a haunted house, whose atmosphere has been recreated for this event, conceived in collaboration with Adam Sinclair and Mikhail Polshaw. The participants will be able to navigate this house thanks to a game platform, specially developed for the occasion.

Myriam Ben Salah
Myriam Ben Salah (b. 1985, Algiers, Algeria) is a Tunisian-French curator. She is the director and chief curator of the Renaissance Society in Chicago, and still recently the co-curator of Made in LA 2020, the Hammer Museum’s biennial in Los Angeles. Ben Salah has been in charge of special projects and public programs at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris from 2009 to 2016, focusing especially on performance art, moving image and publishing initiatives. In 2018 she was the Guest Curator of the 10th edition of the Abraaj Group Art Prize in Dubaï where she worked with winning artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan on a large-scale commission. In 2016, she was a Curator-in-Residence at Fahrenheit in Los Angeles. Ben Salah’s projects encompass exhibitions, screening series, and performances organized at prominent international institutions including Lazaar Foundation in Tunis, the ICA in London, Beirut Art Center, Kunsthall Stavanger, Kadist Foundation in Paris and San Francisco, Pejman Foundation in Tehran, DESTE Foundation in Athens. Ben Salah was also the Editor-in-Chief of Kaleidoscope Magazine. She co-edited F.A.Q., an image-only publication with artist Maurizio Cattelan, as well as FEB MAG, the publication of the Underground Museum in Los Angeles. Her writings have appeared in numerous international art publications and catalogues including Artforum, Mousse, Numéro. She sat on the jury of Beirut Art Residency, SAM Art Project in Paris and the Onassis Foundation Residency in Athens.
